Math-Science Teacher

Belle Meade School, a small independent school in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, seeks a full-time math and science teacher (grades 6-12). A school in the Montessori tradition, Belle Meade expects its teachers to “follow the child” while providing high-quality, engaging lessons. The school is located on a working farm and teachers also supervise and participate in farm and school chores, including weekly community work afternoons.

Requirements and preferred qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred
2. Age-specific teaching experience, experiential teaching experience preferred
3. Intellectual curiosity
4. Enthusiasm for outdoor activities
5. Resilience and a sense of humor
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
7. Commitment to the mission and vision of the school

Salary range $45,000 to $55,000
