Welcome to Belle Meade Montessori School! 2020-2021 is our 14th year. We encourage you to explore what our program has to offer and arrange a visit our school. Our holistic approach to education values community, the individual, creativity, responsibility, and working together. Within this nurturing environment, students develop academic competence and independence, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Our goal is to help students discover their talents and abilities and prepare them for college. Belle Meade School is located on a working farm in Sperryville, Virginia. Our school celebrates the natural beauty of our surroundings.

Belle Meade Montessori School provides the opportunity for students to be challenged academically and shine in many ways. Our highly motivated and well-qualified teachers bring distinctive educational and internationally diverse backgrounds to the academic program. Teachers are invested in the performance of each student and diligently work to provide students with the tools necessary to be successful in school and life where they become caring, confident citizens of the world.

The student/faculty ratio allows for learning to flourish through the mentoring each individual student. Teachers closely monitor the learning styles of each student and tailor instructional methodologies to promote the highest level of success. We hold weekly staff meetings where we assess the well-being of each student and discuss ways in which we can help each to reach his or her true potential.

Our program is accredited by Virginia Independent School Association (VISA) and is designed to encourage students to achieve their highest level of academic and personal growth. The rigorous college preparatory curriculum includes language arts, literature, mathematics, science, history, social studies, geography, foreign languages, art, music, drama, physical education, horseback riding, and electives. We incorporate real-world learning through outdoor education and community work, which creates an atmosphere where students can accomplish their academic goals while developing self-discipline, awareness, and a deep love for learning.
